Dr. Rajat Sood was born in New Delhi, India where he grew up and completed his education. He has been in private practice in the Las Vegas/Henderson area since 1997 and has had his own solo practice since 2006. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Sood graduated from the University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1988. He did his internship at the Department of Medicine at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore in Maryland in 1990. He was a Resident at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore from 1990 to 1992. From 1993-1996, Dr. Sood was a Fellow at the Division of Gastroenterology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and was elected Chief Fellow of Gastroenterology in 1995.
Before moving to Nevada in 1997, Dr. Sood was part of North Andover Medical Associates in Andover, Massachusetts. After a few years of being a part of a large group practice he started his individual practice in 2006.
He opened his office in Henderson in August 2006 and has enjoyed steady growth. He is also involved in the teaching of medical students and is part of the Faculty at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson.
Apart from routine Gastroenterology procedures like upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, Dr. Sood routinely performs advanced biliary procedures like ERCP, Bravo ph monitoring, Small bowel capsule endoscopy, PEG (feeding tube) placement. He also has special interest and advanced training in Liver disease treatment including Hepatitis C and management of Liver transplant patients.

Dr. Sood is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Russian. He enjoys watching basketball and plays racquetball.
